I’ve loved ‘Wicked’ the musical since I was a little kid. The first time I watched Elphaba defy gravity is something that will stay with me forever.

When I saw these leaves, I immediately felt a profound connection with them. I felt they were something that may look like they were a piece of décor in the Wicked Witch’s home. I needed to photograph them.

This series represents the odds we all must face in our pursuit of living authentically and in finding our own power, self-worth, and confidence.
